The Berkeley Trading Invitational 2023
The Berkeley Trading Invitational is an invitational trading competition for UC Berkeley students hosted by Traders at Berkeley.

Location: Soda Hall, Wozniak Lounge

Prizes
The prize pool is $2,000 in cash to be split among top scoring players. We thank Hudson River Trading for sponsoring this year's prize pool.
In addition there will be many chances to win special swag and other prizes.
Who can attend the competition?
The event is open to all UC Berkeley undergraduate and graduate students of any major or year. The event is designed for students studying Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Physics, Economics, Finance, or related fields. No prior experience in finance or trading is required.
Non-Berkeley students should apply to the Berkeley Trading Competition instead.
What Can You Expect?
The Traders at Berkeley team have developed exciting market and trading games designed to simulate concepts in trading and quantitative finance. No experience in trading or finance is required!
- Learn techniques for managing risk and sizing bets
- Simulate market-making in a real-time trading environment on an electronic trading platform
- Make trades on markets on various contracts against other competition participants
Competition specs will be released to particiants closer to the competition date.
Partipants will also have a chance to connect with industry sponsors of Traders at Berkeley and learn more about careers in trading.

Who is the competition open to?
UC Berkeley students of all levels and majors are welcome to apply (Undergraduate, Masters, or PhD). For students attending other schools, the full Berkeley Trading Competition will be held in the spring.
When is the Berkeley Trading Invitational?
The BTI will be held in November 19th, 2023.
Where will the Berkeley Trading Invitational be held?
The BTI will be held in Wozniak Lounge in Soda Hall.
Is the competition a team or individual event?
The competition is an individual event and each participant needs to sign up seperately. Final scoring and prizes will be awarded based on individual performance.
