Why Traders
You're joining a community
Behind the competition and the DeCal is a close group of people who go through college together — from weekly meetings and social events to late-night work sessions and reunions long after graduation. Our members share an interest in quantitative finance and a drive to build the competitions and events that make the club what it is.

Frequently asked questions
What type of students are you looking for?
All successful applicants have very strong quantitative skills and are ambitious, curious, and driven to keep learning. Many of our members were involved in research or have industry experience in technical roles. But above all, our members contribute to the community and help build something bigger than themselves.
Do you take any members that have not taken the DeCal?
We occasionally take candidates directly into the club who have exceptional skills and experience. These members usually already have industry experience.
What kind of questions are asked during the technical round?
Our technical rounds are modeled after the interviews you would expect in the industry, tailored to your academic background. Expect questions on your past experiences, projects, and the work listed on your resume.
Do you require prior financial experience?
No. Many of our members joined with little to no experience in trading. We prioritize strong quantitative ability and a passion for problem solving.
I applied for the club previously, can I apply again?
Yes! We would like to see a history of improvement and focus in quantitative topics.
